Children's Law Center (CLC)

Children's Law Center (CLC)

The Children's Law Center (CLC) provides court appointed legal representation for youth who have been abused, neglected or abandoned that come under the protection of the Los Angeles County Juvenile Dependency Court system. In addition to providing legal representation, CLC has several advocacy programs/initiatives designed to better serve our transitioning age youth. To ensure the maximum level of youth engagement, CLC established a peer advocacy program that employs former foster youth. CLC’s ‘Peer Advocate Program’  targets transition-age foster youth in need of intensive advocacy on a range of issues, including CSE(commercially sexually exploited) youth, pregnant and/or parenting youth, youth struggling with mental health issues, and/or youth who need direction with regard to educational and employment opportunities in preparation for independence.
