The Harbor YouthSource Center promotes youth achievement by working with families and community partners to create opportunities that help youth ages 16-24 reach their education, employment, and personal development goals.We are funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), making all of our services FREE! Services we offer include: High School Equivalency Prep; Financial Assistance; Academic Counseling & Assistance (HS & College); College Preparation; and Job Prep & Paid Internships.
We organize youth and families in Boyle Heights, unincorporated East Los Angeles, El Sereno and Lincoln Heights to work together for social and educational justice. InnerCity Struggle provides positive after-school programs for students to become involved in supporting our schools to succeed. We have empowered students to reach their family's dream of college. The work of InnerCity Struggle demonstrates that youth and parents working together are a powerful force for improving their communities and making real change.
Homeboy Industries offers almost forty classes/groups each week, covering a wide range of topics. Our academic curriculum provides support in high school equivalency test preparation, college readiness, reading and writing. We offer a variety of free classes and support groups all day long, Monday through Friday.
Hathaway-Sycamores’ Family Resource Center provides support services that include after-school enrichment programs for children and youth, individual and family counseling, academic support, access to community technology center, and other preventative programs designed to help enrich and empower families and their communities.

The Boyle Heights FamilySource Center is a "one-stop-shop" for families that offers free children/ youth and adult education and training programs. Children and Youth services include: One on One Academic Support Services with LAUSD PSA counselor; Weekly Afterschool Tutoring Services; Youth Leadership Program; Mentoring; College Awareness & College Trips; Recreational Programs; Case Management; and Mental Health Services.
Children of the Night is a privately funded non-profit organization that provides services including on-site school and college placement program, life-skills education, and ongoing case management. Children of the Night With Out Walls” (WOW) offers access to an education by providing free online GED assessments, GED tutoring, funding for the GED Test, support documents for registration to test for the GED and transportation to the GED testing sites throughout the United States.
College Bound is our highly successful college pathway support program available to all members, grades 4 through 12. Each student involved has access to the following: Intensive Case Management; Daily Tutoring; Weekly College Bound Classes; Weekly Writers’ Workshops; Mentoring; College Credit Classes; College Exposure and Campus Visits; Summer Workshops and Classes; Assistance Securing Resources for College; and Princeton Review Resources.
College Corner provides college information and counseling and guidance to youth and young adults on their educational aspirations. Assistance with college and financial aid applications are also included.
