To inspire change in a young person’s life, we at Safe Place for Youth engage, build trust, and provide care and support to youth experiencing homelessness, so that the youth, not their situations, define their lives. Our robust continuum of care addresses the unique needs of this population through assertive street outreach, low barrier drop-in services, health and wellness programming, case management, and education and employment services.
We provide each client with professional attire to secure employment, but we are about much more than simply a new outfit. Besides physically equipping the client with apparel and accessories, our programs furnish her with a confidence that she carries forever and the knowledge that she can actively define her life, the direction she takes and what success means to her.
ILP provides assistance with interview clothing, transportation and food for employment.
We enroll new students age 16-24 every 5-8 weeks. Our high school program is located on campus at LA Trade Technical College. All incoming students co-enroll at the College, so our students have access to College courses plus the College library, computer lab, and many other resources. At CRCD Academy, we focus on project-based learning and we offer an expedited path to earn an accredited high school diploma with the YouthBuild Charter School of CA.
