The shelter has been able to provide services to men, women, and children of all ages who are victims of domestic violence . Valley Oasis has provided shelter to domestic violence victims from around the world due to being one of the first shelters in the country to provide services to men.

Upward Bound House purchased the Sun Bay Motel, located in Culver City, and converted the motel into an emergency shelter for families with minor children. Family Shelter provides short-term housing for families in crisis. In addition to secure, safe accommodations for each family, the program features intensive wrap-around case management, counseling, a food program and other stabilization services. The units comfortably accommodate a full family, with kitchens and home furnishings. The apartment complex includes a playground and common areas.
