Life in recovery is possible through the many TAY services provided under the umbrella of Daniel’s Place: permanent supportive housing; supported vocational training and employment; mental health therapy; and member-driven supportive services.
Our Mission is to provide working poor families, as well as homeless men, women and children of all ages, with the inner resources and tools to become productive, stable and self-supporting members of the community. Chronic Homeless Programs in Santa Monica and Venice help the community’s most vulnerable homeless individuals obtain and maintain permanent supportive housing.
The SHAWL Organization has two transitional housing facilities that aid women as they are transitioning from the primary 6-month program. They also provide addiction treatment, domestic violence education, job training opportunities, and connect residents to resources.
Established in an effort to serve the homeless in the greater San Fernando Valley, the roots of the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission grow deep, span over 40 years and were established as an outreach ministry of the Rescue Mission Alliance – a Christian based non-profit organization. Founded in 1998, the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission began as the Rescue Survival Outreach Services (S.O.S.) Program serving meals to the Valley’s homeless.
To inspire change in a young person’s life, we at Safe Place for Youth engage, build trust, and provide care and support to youth experiencing homelessness, so that the youth, not their situations, define their lives. Our robust continuum of care addresses the unique needs of this population through assertive street outreach, low barrier drop-in services, health and wellness programming, case management, and education and employment services.
We have two shelters, a 30-day emergency shelter called Rainbow House and a transitional shelter where you and your children may remain for up to one year called Villa Paloma. We also have counseling, case management, parenting classes, life-skills classes, and several Children's Programs.
Women and children escaping from domestic violence can be housed at our Rainbow House Emergency Shelter. Clients come to Rainbow with little more than the clothes on their backs and we help them start a new life. Here they receive meals, clothing, health exams, counseling (individual and group), case management, legal advocacy, and court accompaniment.
Precious Life Shelter is an emergency, transitional, and single parent efficiency program providing a safe environment for the pregnant woman with no place to live. The woman may be facing an immediate financial, physical or emotional emergency which threatens her with loss of housing, food and/or necessities for daily living. The woman has decided to have her child and she needs a place to stay. Each phase of the program builds on their previous success. Our program will help her realize that both her life and that of her baby are precious.
