BRIDGES, Inc., a mental health and social services agency, works with at-risk youth, adults, and their families, empowering them to reach their own maximum potential for independence, community integration, and quality of life. We offer programs and services focusing on each person’s strengths to develop the skills and abilities which break the cycle of institutionalization and homelessness. BRIDGES provides specialized housing, treatment, and other supportive services to persons with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders.
Alma has a “whatever it takes” tradition of multilingual, culturally competent services to meet client’s needs in their homes and residential facilities, schools, social and vocational programs, juvenile facilities, and other settings as appropriate. In addition, Alma provides eight interdisciplinary mental health outpatient office locations serving all age ranges including those with substance abuse in the cities of Long Beach, Walnut, Pico Rivera, El Monte and East Los Angeles and which also serve adjacent communities.
The mission of YOT is to assist children, youth, and their families to move toward recovery, self-sufficiency, and making healthier choices. The Program offers comprehensive substance abuse and mental health counseling services and education to eligible children, youth & families.
Youth and Family Programs are engaged in a wide spectrum of programs committed to providing prevention, intervention and diversion services. Services Include: Parenting Classes (Parent Project); Anger Management Classes;Individual, Group and Family Counseling; Case Management; Parent Support Groups; Mentoring; Recreational/Field Trips; Substance Abuse Education; Academic Support; Community Assistance; Referrals & Information; Cultural Activities; and Supportive Services.
Programs And Services:
AOD Prevention: Changing the local environment and conditions that facilitate AOD use, as well as the knowledge and behaviors of youth and adults that contribute to community norms about AOD use in Long Beach. Long Beach Community Action Team: Youth group based in Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Goal and focus is to develop community youth leaders to mobilize and advocate on alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention (ATOD) policies and campaigns in the City of Long Beach.
AltaMed’s youth programs provide teens with health information and education with the goal of decreasing the number of teenage pregnancies and improving health outcomes. Our programs are designed to help teen mothers and their partners understand the health, social and economic challenges of having a child at a young age. Women’s Care Cottage is an Independent/Transitional living program assisting homeless young women coming out of emergency shelters, foster care and probation. Women’s Care Cottage is a safe place where young women who have been either critically homeless or in the criminal justice or foster care system can start a new life and develop the ability to live independently with pride and dignity while accomplishing their goals.
