LA Mission College Guardian Scholars

Los Angeles Mission provides Foster Youth student the opportunity for advocacy and support through the Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support Program (CAFYES) and the Guardian Scholars program. Collaboratively, both programs mission is to empower foster youth through higher education. We are committed to provide the necessary tools and support to Foster Youth students to help them overcome obstacles and remove educational barrios in order to successfully obtain a certificate, transfer or Associate’s Degree.

CalWORKS

CalWORKs/GAIN (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids/Greater Avenues to Independence) is a government (both state and federal) funded program that offers temporary financial assistance, vocational and job skills training, as well as other support services. Our office serves as a liaison between the college and the Los Angeles Department of Public Services.

Year Up is a one-year, full-time training and internship program located on the West Los Angeles College campus.
